If a builder gets you online faster, that’s a win. The goal is just to understand the tradeoffs before they cost you time, rankings, or revenue.
To be clear, of course, you can build your business website! With access to website builders like Shopify or Wix, and to other free website templates, creating a website for your small or new business has never been easier. Or so it seems at first glance. These DIY business website design templates do not include the actual instructions for creating a successful business website.
Businesses should avoid DIY web design because it often leads to poor user experience, security vulnerabilities, and limited scalability. Amateur designs damage brand credibility, while a lack of proper SEO, slow loading speeds, and generic templates result in lower search rankings and fewer customers, ultimately costing more in lost revenue than hiring a professional.
Of the DIY’s (Do-It-Yourselfers) that embark on building a site, 98% of them fail in publishing one at all.
